Well, the problem is the class hierarchy. :) The Jabber backend library uses 
several abstract classes for dealing with encrypted connections and 
authentication. Upon connection, you can "plug in" your own classes that 
inherit from these abstract classes and implement the security methods in 
whichever way they want.

You're very welcome to implement that part though, if you are interested.
