Using CTRL+Enter to send is not poor usability.
Only people used to IRC and MSN think Enter should be send. ICQ users are used
to CTRL+Enter. You can't say something is poor usability just because *you*
don't like it.
In the case of new users, it would be reasonable to expect them to think Enter
== New Line, since every word processor they'd have every used would behave
that way.
It should also be noted that GAIMs default is also CTRL+Enter, for what it is
worth.
