It's already there, but it's not in the chat window. It's in the properties dialog. \
However, Kopete's OSCAR protocol will do the right thing and send Unicode if ASCII \
can't fit, if the other side said it understands Unicode. If it doesn't, Kopete will \
send using the user encoding.

In other words, Kopete might know better than you. If the other side isn't receiving \
correctly, maybe they were not configured correctly.

I might add that I've never had a problem with Unicode being displayed wrong in \
Kopete (Latin 1 being displayed wrong I have).

Since you're not in the CC list nor in the Voters list, I'm assuming it'll take a \
long time for you to read this, so I'm closing the bug again meanwhile. If you still \
have problems, please tell us what you typed and what the other side received (and \
