I like these two options, and think they compliment eachother.

Show the child tooltip if only one child, else combine them.

Can tooltips in QT have rich text?

If so 
	<b>MSN:</b> ...msn tooltip...... <br/>
	<b>ICQ:</b> ...icq tooltip... <br/>

..may be ok....
