Yes, right, that is what i said.
Anyway, i don't see what you add this here.

1) The systemtray is never deleted, just hidden
2) An application is not forced to have a mainWidget


many other kde application ( kgpg, kmix, ... ) have the systemtry as 
mainwidget.

I understand this may have bad consequences. i heven't yet noticed it. That's 
why i ask the question.

If you find a better way to obtain the systemtray winId in libkopete, you are 
welcome to tell us.
