Summary: Plugins fail to start in 0.61a
Product: kopete
Version: 0.6.1a
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: FreeBSD
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kopete-devel@kde.org
ReportedBy: dmakovec@europe.yahoo-inc.com
Version: 0.6.1a (using KDE 3.1.0)
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release) [FreeBSD]
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 4.3-YAHOO-20020521
I downloaded 0.61a from the site, and compiled it on FreeBSD using gmake. The \
compilation went OK, gmake check worked fine and after installation, the app started \
up.
I went into the Configure Kopete window to configure plugins by selecting them (I \
tried just ICQ, or just MSN, or just AOL, and combinations of the above), and the \
plugins failed to start. On the console, I see the following message:
kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: library=kopete_aim: \
file=/home/local/lib/kde3/kopete_aim.la: /home/local/lib/kde3/kopete_aim.so: \
Undefined symbol "id__C12KopetePlugin"
kopete: LibraryLoader::loadPlugin: Error while loading plugin: \
/home/local/lib/kde3/kopete_aim.so: Undefined symbol "id__C12KopetePlugin"
I rebuilt the app and installed everything under prefix /usr/local/kopete and ran nm \
-a over all the .so files but couldn't find the symbol linked in anywhere. Any ideas \
what's wrong? _______________________________________________
