Maybe just add proper session management? I think that if we handle the 
saveyourself call or whatever it's called we can also set the proper flag for 
the window closing. Just a guess though, but that's how I understood session 
management.

Well, you can't leave hide-on-close on if it breaks session management. That 
will truly break havoc, like when I press ctrl-alt-pgdn, enter to shutdown my 
computer and instead of saving session and shutting down it stalls somewhere 
in Kopete without even logging out. Not a very desirable result :)
