The reason for branches is more that introducing new features also introduces 
new bugs, so releasing a 0.5.1 release will not only fix stuff, it will also 
break stuff (and add new stuff). I personally prefer the conservative 
approach of a bugfix-only branch with no new features at all, but I won't 
object if you prefer HEAD - it's your own choice ;-)
