We might have protocols one day or another that don't support displaying their 
ID as string. Until I'm sure that can never be the case I have explicitly 
stated in the KopeteContact::id() API docs that you should *not* rely on the 
return value for anything else than comparing.

And in the mail you're replying to I wasn't talking about contacts, but about 
protocols, which don't have a QString id() yet :-)
