Try running xterm or gnome-terminal in gnome and KDE(through krunner or menu),
the result will be the same as the konsole case above (suppose the ~/Documents
folder is present ). Without that commit, konsole just start in "~" if you
haven't set the initial path explicitly in default konsole profile. That is
what I mean that commits only makes konsole more like other emulators.
