Seems solved to me in 2.0 -- unless Ctrl is held, the final newline doesn't get pasted. 

Previous newlines do, but most of the time when you have multiple lines in buffer you do want to paste them all -- it'd be a PITA to always hold Ctrl when pasting. Or maybe it should be configurable?

Closing for now. Re-open if need be.
