Subject: Problems copy-pasting multi-line text after using vi
From: kde-bugs@knaff.lu

Package: konsole
Version: unknown (using KDE 2.1.2 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: 2.4.1

Under certain conditions, copy-pasting text composed of multiple long lines becomes \
messed up.

How to reproduce:
1. Start up vi, and exit it (for this test, I used VIM 5.7.25, but other curses apps \
such as less or more work too) 2. Display some text which contains several lines long \
enough to word wrap (for instance, by catting a file which contains such lines) 3. \
Using the mouse, copy-paste the text into another window (for instance, an emacs) 4. \
In the pasted text, the line breaks between the long lines are now gone: i.e. two 90 \
character long lines appear as one 180 character line. It doesn't seem to happen \
between short (non-wrapped) lines: two 10 character long lines stay two lines.
