You can trim down Qt to under 4MB under i386. I have written some notes on 
reducing the size of the Qt libraries, it happarently ended up here:

For reference, these are the stats for konqueror running with Qt-X11, on a 
i586 (geode) machine:

VmRSS:     11060 kB
VmData:     4664 kB
