            Bug ID: 349097
           Summary: Three simple usability issues
           Product: konqueror
           Version: 4.14.2
          Platform: Debian stable
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: tabbing
          Assignee: konq-bugs@kde.org
          Reporter: unfa00@gmail.com

I've been using Firefox for a long time, now I happen to use Konqueror on
Debian 8 (can't get Firefox there).

I've noticed some basic usability issues that might help improve Konqueror as a
web browser for everyone.

1. I can't easily see which tab is active at the moment, I think it needs some
more radical visual indication like a bold font or tab color change or some
bright stroke around the tab. I can't see what tab I'm viewing, it's very hard
to use Konqueror like this. I'm using KDE4 with Oxygene theme and Wonton soup
color scheme.

2. I can't close tabs by middleclicking on them - to close a tab I need to take
the time to aim for a small "x" button, this feels tedious and a waste of time,
I'd like to be able to close the tabs with a single middleclick placed anywhere
on the tab, with no need to perform precise aiming - that'd save me a lot of
time using Konqueror.

3. Separate addres bar and search bars: I'm used to have just one bar that acts
both as an addres and a search bar. I keep trying to search the web with my
address bar, and get error screens instead. I think it's a pretty common
feature that saves screen space and needless user's time. RIght now I need to
keep track of two bars and before I search or type an address I need to think
which bar I need to use, locate it and type there. Why? Isn't it easy enough to
see if the value typed in begins with "http://" or "www." ? Shouldn't this be
automatic? KISS! I think simpler is almost always better and this function in
particular makes my life easier.

Thank you for your work and attention :)

Bless you!
