Bug ID: 317291
Summary: Konqueror erroneously prepending "www." to the
beginning of HTTP URLs even when not desired
Classification: Unclassified
Product: konqueror
Version: 4.10.1
Platform: Other
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: konq-bugs@kde.org
Reporter: marcus@harrisonland.co.uk
For certain URLs, Konqueror appears to erroneously prepend "www.", preventing
some URLs from resolving. For example, .onion websites suck as Duck Duck Go's
(https://3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion/) have www. prepended
(https://www.3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion/) which causes a 404 error.
It doesn't happen all the time - before I updated to 4.10.1 it didn't happen.
However, it only happens when the location bar is selected and Enter is hit;
and if it happens once, it becomes a consistent behaviour. It doesn't happen if
the URL is opened from the Go menu or from the history tool, nor when the URL
is opened by clicking a link on a web page.
Reproducible: Sometimes
