Old, but perhaps the author has a point in that options to specify a scaling
factor (1 px = 1.2 real pixels) and a font unit size (1 pt = 1.333 px / 1.6
real pixels) is sensible (and more meaningful than the current "medium font
size" setting)?

Of course, this defies the definitions of point and pixel, but some scaling
mechanism is needed and this is basically what phone browsers do (minus the
configurability part). It also ignores the monitor DPI setting, but this may be
sensible anyway.
