Bug ID: 307587
Severity: normal
Version: 4.8.4
Priority: NOR
Assignee: konq-bugs@kde.org
Summary: ed2k link doesn't work
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: lucanive@infinito.it
Hardware: Debian unstable
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Component: general
Product: konqueror
After setting konqueror to handle ed2k links (I created ed2k.protocol in
~/.kde/share/kde4/services/) these still do not work.
After some testing I found the problem to be the pipe "|" in the link.
I created an html page with this:
<a
href="ed2k://|file|name.txt|1000000|000000000000000000000000000000|/">test</a><br/>
<a
href="ed2k:///|file|name.txt|1000000|000000000000000000000000000000|/">test</a><br/>
<a
href="ed2k://test/|file|name.txt|1000000|000000000000000000000000000000|/">test</a><br/>
where the first is a valid ed2k, the others are modified by adding an extra /
and an extra /test
When I click the first link nothing happens, when I click the second or the
third the ed2k manager is called (but it tells that the link is not valid).
The problem is with the | that are in the part than would be the domain name in
a regular http link.
I know that this char is not allowed in domain names, but the way konqueror
handles them breaks ed2k links.
The same problem occur with rekonq.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up konqueror to handle ed2k links
2. Click on a ed2k link
Actual Results:
nothing appens
Expected Results:
ed2k link manager called
