Bug ID: 307540
Severity: wishlist
Version: unspecified
Priority: NOR
Assignee: konq-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Override suppressed form autocompletion
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
Reporter: gerald82@gebix.net
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Component: general
Product: konqueror
On websites with a login form, the password fields are often marked with a
autocomplete="off" attribute. While this may be a good idea to improve password
security when nodecent password manager is used, it actually has a negative
impact on password security when you use kwallet for instance.
I frequently have to open kwalletmanager, seek the password for a given site,
copy the password into the clipboard(!!!) and paste it into the password field.
This is cumbersome and makes my password be available in clear text in klipper.
Therefore, I would be very thankful if you could provide an option to override
the silly autofill suppression.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open website that uses autocomplete="off" in forms
Actual Results:
The feature works, no autocomplete is available - as intended.
Which is bad.
Expected Results:
I would like to enforce autocompletion by an explicit option to do so (can be
off by default)
