I've checked my $KDEHOME/share/config/ksslcertificatemanager -- the certificate
is there.
But sometimes I'm prompted whether or not I want to accept it anyway (at
irregular intervals, sometimes it's a matter of minutes, sometimes a matter of
days).

Chances are that reading the certificate from the file fails (or mismatches)
under some yet to be determined circumstances.
