I can confirm this for a page that's apparently non-UTF8:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/misc/FAQ.html

Search for "Frequently". The first one is selected correctly, but the second,
fourth and sixth are not.

I'm running 4.4.4 on Squeeze.
