Summary: Change button for web shortcuts disabled
Product: konqueror
Version: 4.3.2
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: konq-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: gspreemann@gmail.com
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Note: This bug was experienced in version 4.3.2, but the relevant code seems
unchanged in the current trunk, so it's probably still an issue.
When editing web shortcuts in Konqueror the "Change" and "Delete" buttons are
disabled (grayed out) even after selecting a specific shortcut to edit. The
reason seems to be line 233 in kurifilter-plugins/ikws/ikwsopts.cpp in version
4.3.2 of kdebase-runtime where the signal "activated" is connected to the slot
"updateSearchProviderEditingButons", which enables the said buttons. According
to the Qt documentation [1] the "activated" signal is OS-dependent, but "[is
emitted] e.g., by single- or double-clicking the item, or by pressing the
Return or Enter key when the item is current." By instead using the "clicked"
signal the updateSearchProviderEditingButons slot will properly be invoked
whenever a shortcut is selected.
I have not had time to test the actual patch yet.
