Summary: clicks are rendered from; sent to page in a different
tab
Product: konqueror
Version: unspecified
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: konq-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: shahamit@gmail.com
Version: 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1), 4.2.1-4.fc10
Fedora)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.19-170.2.35.fc10.x86_64
Looks like a pretty serious bug -- I had this link open in a tab:
http://blog.duarte.com/
I opened another link, page to a directory listing of some file downloads. I
downloaded the first file (save as..., which starts kget). I then proceed
(after some time) to click the second file but it's not clickable. I then move
the mouse pointer a bit and find the mouse turns into the clickable 'hand' tool
at arbitrary locatins in the page. I do a few clicks and nothing happens.
However, due to some other bug, the status bar in konqueror shows some text and
it changes depending on my clicks, as if there were a drop-down list. (This bug
causes the page contents to overwrite the status bar). I couldn't figure out
what drop-down list it could be; I also saw some ads and thought it could be
some pop-under or something which got blocked from view but was active
somewhere else.
However, it turned out that it was actually the other tab where the clicks were
happening.
The orig. page in the tab, which was at
http://blog.duarte.com/
was now at
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/membership/join.asp?cds2Pid=14834
due to the clicks that I made in the other tab.
The 'back' history showed I went first to the B&N site, then to some membership
page and then to the page linked above.
It's a serious bug since it can cause unintended data loss or security issues.
