Summary: Add possibility to tag wepages (without bookmarking
them first)
Product: konqueror
Version: 4.2.0
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: konq-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: Regnaron@web.de
Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
While there already is a bug for adding (nepomuk) tagging support for bookmarks
in konqueror (bug #150649) I think it would also be great if we could tag
webpages directely. In firefox for example I can only add tags to a website if
I bookmark it beforehand.
This however means that I have to bookmark all pages that I want to tag. So
over time you will have a lot of bookmarks where most of them are just for
assigning tags to certain webpages. The bookmark folder is no longer a way of
quickly acessing site X, but a set of all sites that have any kind of tag.
Therefore it becomes cluttered and looses its initial purpose.
An example for this would be howtos for example. If I want to revisit some page
with a howto I would like to do it by searching for some tags. However, as I'll
seldom visit that page I don't want to put it in my bookmarks.
As -- as far as I know -- tags in nepomuk are not required to be attached to
some particular file anyway I assume this feature could be rather easily
incorporated into a general nepomuk tagging support for konqueror bookmarks?
(if that support is done generic enough)
