Since selecting text is done using mouse it is hard to exactly set the boundaries in the sentences. For me it is quite common to select one space too more. So the option "smart copy" would be useful, let's say I selected

Please specify |the severity of your item here, |so we can handle the bugs first

such portion of the text, with smart copy (when user chooses copy of course) the clipboard content would be:
|the severity of your item here,|

There is also one more reason -- html pages are not text only, there are images, newlines, and god know what else -- it is hard to stop exactly when the text ends and non-text object starts (or vice versa).
