No problems using ebay here. 
 You'll need to investigate further to determine what is going on for you.

I'm new to this particular Linux (MEPIS) and use of Konqueror... see next.
Konqueror Ver. 3.4.3
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-1-586tsc
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu

Within the first day of loading it onto my newly formatted drive, I began
to constantly get the KHTML freeze messages with eBay.

Regarding your response stated above... did you actually select an eBay
item or product and complete the BUY proccess to confirm your findings?
