Summary: CSS overflow:hidden does not "hide" hidden links
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konq-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: trash.173 wwwagner net

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-4.1.1-r3
OS: Linux

situation: you have a div B within a div A, div B has "overflow:hidden"; if B \
contains lot of text, this results in kind of "iframe"-effect with a scrollbar for B. \
This works as it should. Now, if B contains links in the hidden area, Konqueror hides \
them from being displayed (as it should do - so you don't see them), but the links \
are still virtually present and you can activate them with the mouse as if they were \
not hidden by div A. While this may usually not be a problem, it becomes rather \
inconvenient when div A (the hiding area) contains links on the "same" place - i.e \
"over" the hidden links: in this case you want to go to the target of the link \
provided by A, not to the target of the hidden link in B - but Konqueror actually \
sends you to this latter.

See http://webdesign.wwwagner.net/samsonow/index.html as a text case. Click \
"impressum" and you will see \
http://webdesign.wwwagner.net/samsonow/Skulpturen/0040.html instead of \
http://webdesign.wwwagner.net/samsonow/impressum.html Similarly, every link "hidden" \
beneath the scrollable area can be activated.

You can, however, click somewhere into the margin of div A first and thus "activate" \
it or "bring it to the front". But it's only after that that the displayed links of A \
work correctly.

Give it a try!
Best, cjubon
