I am going to pull my fix. At least until further investigation. 

It seems Firefox supports multiple BASE elements. They are all moved up to the header \
where they belong, but are only applied to the relative paths _after_ the original \
position. I suspect Firefox for the same reason is not capable of supporting \
Javascript created BASE elements.

Konqueror like Firefox moves them to the header, but then _acts_ like the BASE was in \
the header to begin with and applies it all elements. \
