Just for the record, if anyone has the same problem and don't know what to do.

Today I've had the same behaviour as described in this bug, and I couldn't find any \
information about it except of this bug report. I reinstalled all of my X-packages \
(for Ubuntu / Debian users: apt-get install --reinstall <package>) and that fixed the \
problem. 

Maybe it wasn't the update to KDE 3.5 beta1 what fixed the bug for Thomas, I guess he \
did update X also about that time, but he didn't thought of it as the real problem... \
