 Some issues with selecting items in both detailed view and text view: 
 
 One interesting observation: The mail list view in KMail does not have any of these problems. It behaves very consistent. (It does not have auto-select, so maybe it has something to do with it). I use KDE in single-click mode with auto-selection under the mouse.


Problem 2: 
  a) Select one item using the mouse with auto-selection enabled 
  b) Start selecting more items using the keyboard (Shift-Up/-Down) without using the mouse 
  c) The first item of your selecten will be de-selected. This is somehow consistent, but annoying as it means you have to move the mouse out of the file list before making a selection with the keyboard.
