Summary: attempts to mount floppy link Suse 9.3 My Computer -died
                    unexpectedly, +Konqueror repeatedly re-reads directory
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konq-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: rw soundesys f9 co uk

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: gcc as Suse 9.3
OS: Linux

In latest Suse Linux 9.3 attemt to open/mount floppy using KDE desktop My Computer \
link results in 'the process for the media protocol died unexpectedly' error message, \
whereas directly in associated konqueror file manager, when attempting to open \
media/floppy the status tends to report stalled, but endlessly re-reads the directory \
of the floppy. [The floppy can however be successfully formatted and a \
recovery/startup floppy can also be forged!] The Gnome or TVWM alternative desktop \
does not display any such problem. System is a Duron CPU on MSI 6511 explorer \
(Packard Bell) mainboard with ?SiS chipset (correctly identified in hardware \
detection). Floppy is standard primary installation. \
