I've just tried it in -75dpi (the default X dpi)

Same thing happens. It seems to be something about Times New Roman that Konqueror \
doesn't like.

I tried Arial(on both 75 and 100dpi) on Firefox and Konqueror and it seems to be \
alright. (except the font size differences, konqueror needs to use smaller numbers \
compared to firefox to get a certain size, i attribute it to the fact that firefox \
factors in the system dpi)

Only Times News Roman will cause a shadowy/artifact-ish on the text to be rendered on \
