Summary: Add tree view for non file:/ protocols.
Product: konqueror
Version: 3.3.2
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: konq-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: tdh29 cam ac uk
Version: 3.3.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
When you are browsing your local file:/'s Konqueror (more or less) keeps the tree \
view correctly synchronised with the file view. There are some minor bugs:
When you open Konqueror and it first goes to (in my case) /home/t, the tree view \
doesn't have /home/t selected as it should. Also, if /home/t/foo is a link to \
/somewhere/foo and has 'bar' as a subdirectory, when you change from /home/t/foo to \
/home/t/foo/bar by double clicking on 'bar' in the file view, the tree view actually \
goes to /somewhere/foo/bar.
Anyway, that's not important. What is more annoying, is that you can only have a tree \
view for file:// Clearly trees exist for other protocols (thinking mainly ftp, \
sftp, scp, audiocd, webdav, etc. Konqueror should dynamically add a tree for them \
somewhere (either another sidebar tab, or (better) as another root node in the \
'Filesystem' tab).
So if I type 'ftp://me eng cam ac uk/users2/03/me' or something it adds (after \
'Root'):
ftp://eng.cam.ac.uk/
+--users0
+--users1
+--users2
+---02
+---03
+---him
+---[me]
+---her
+---04
+--users4
And has me selected. When you leave that site or maybe when you close Konqueror, the \
entry should be removed.
Discuss.
