ah, right, thanks, I forgot about those pesky corners... mmh, that's not going to be so straight forward... I'll have a look later.

re:OT: yes that's legit, parent has 'auto' width, so it's based on parent available width all the way down to the root, which happens to be sized to the viewport width by default.
