Well, maybe it's just "RTFM". I found a hint in the kernel source documentation files \
(Documentation/filesystems/supermount.txt). My /etc/fstab-entry for the supermount \
drive showed up as
/media/dvd /media/dvd supermount fs=iso9660,dev=/dev/hdd 0 0
but the kernel doc says to specify the filesystem as "none" instead of device or \
mountpoint. Specifying a mountpoint may cause certain file system tools to end up in \
a loop. I changed the fstab entry and it seems to work. This matches my experience \
that's not the actual filebrowser window that hangs but the navigation tab: the \
hanging occurs when the navigation tab tries to descend into the directory tree using \
the fstab/mtab information I guess, which also said "/media/dvd on /media/dvd" before \
the change. _______________________________________________
