Hi Thiago,

I can not offer any concrete evidence on the grid being easy to use, other than \
saying, if people can read a bus timetable where they have to locate things along a \
column and a row, surely they can understand this. I would argue that if they can't \
they don;t even need to know about permissions anyway.

Perhps instead of just saying r w x these should be spelt out. Same with user, \
group, other.

To any unix user the grid is certainly completely obvious to use in its current form \
(it is similar to chmod), and I think we need to be careful with how kde approaches \
these things. Whilst I agree that kde shuld be useble to new users, it should remain \
powerful for unix users, without going through "advanced" buttons. When I use \
windows I get very annoyed at always, if I want to change something, having to go to \
the advanced tab when the functionality I require is basic functionality which should \
be immediately accessible.

After the release of 3.2 In will being it up on a mailing list. kde-usebility or \
users? Where is the most appropriate place?

Cheers,

Paul
