I have the CODEBASE attribute already, it is required in MSIE. I changed it to be 
"/applet2" (the applet is there) -- didn't help in Konqueror. I changed it back so I can run 
the OBJECT tag page on MSIE. 
 
I can't make the OBJECT tag running on Konqueror 3.1-13 (RedHat 9 RPM). 
I can't make the OBJECT tag running on Konqueror 3.1.3 (Debian unstable, daily 
updated deb). 
 
If the applet loading code is rewritten in KDE 3.2 I suppose there is much probability the 
bug will disappear as it is likely a thread race condition. 
 
Thanks for your support. I'm waiting for the KDE 3.2 on RPMs for RedHat 9.
