           Summary: document.getElementsByTagName("*") does not work
           Product: konqueror
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konq-bugs@kde.org
        ReportedBy: jsp@pkc.com

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.1)
Installed from: I Don't Know
OS: Linux

Summary: document.getElementsByTagName("*") returns an empty list.

Demonstration: Load the test case. It has a load handler that puts up an alert box \
with the number of elements returned by document.getElementsByTagName("*"). According \
to http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/REC-DOM-Level-2-Core-20001113/core.html#ID-A6C9094, "The \
special value "*" matches all tags," so this call should fetch all elements in the \
document. Instead, Konqueror returns an empty list.

Additional information:
- Mozilla, Opera 7.0, and IE 6.0 all get this right, though older versions of IE \
                returned an empty list.
- Konqueror provides document.all, which could be used as a fallback. However, Safari \
does not recognize document.all, so support for getElementsByTagName("*") is \
important. _______________________________________________
