The site http://www.treeview.net/ has example code for how to implement a Javascript based treeview which works in lots of browsers. Unfortunately it doesn't work with Konqueror. See the example page at 
http://www.treeview.net/treemenu/3fr_beenthere.html

With Konqueror the tree of folders is always expanded and can not be expanded / contracted by clicking on the folders. It works fine in IE/Mozilla.
