Unfortunately I am unable to compile the oops proxy server. Also the
authentication code has been changed quite a bit in the current development
version to make a comparison b/n the old code and the current one. Please try
the following procedure to produce debug output:
1.) ALT+F2 and type kdebugdialog --fullmode
2.) In the Debug area select 7103
3.) In the "Information" group set "Output to:" File and "Filename:" to
/tmp/kio_http.log or any filename you want, just given the full path.
4.) Repeat steps 2 & 3 for debug are 7113.
5.) Restart KDE and attempt to use the proxy again...
6.) Look at the output of the file
7.) If the debug file is empty, then your KDE was indeed compiled with
--disable-debug which is mostly true for packages obtained from distributions
for performance reasons. If this is the case, my suggestion is for you to try
out the current beta release for KDE 3.1
Regards,
Dawit A.
