Package: khtml
Version: KDE 3.0.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Mandrake 8.1

TrueType fonts are being rendered differently in KDE 3.02 applications than in \
non-KDE apps. I do not have anti-aliasing turned on in KDE. Take a look at the \
snapshot at: http://www.idyll.org/~n8gray/bad_kde_fonts.gif and notice the \
differences in the lowercase 'g' and 'e' glyphs in the Konqueror, KCharSel, xfontsel, \
and gfontsel windows. I tried many different point sizes in xfontsel/gfontsel and \
none of them caused the top of the 'g' or the loop in the 'e' to collapse like it \
does in the KDE applications.

I see similar problems in Arial and other TTF fonts, but I chose Baskerville Old Face \
for this test because it's very easy to see the problem. It's a shame, because it \
makes many websites look really bad.

Best wishes, and thanks for all the work you've done so far,
-Nathan
