I don't have a zip drive, but it is translated as follows:

Hi

I cannot copy bigger tree structures with konquerer.

Either I do something wrong or this is a bug.

I have SuSE 7.1 freshly installed on my PC. I’m using Kernel 2.2.18 and have
KDE 2.0.1.

I didn’t change anything on the SuSE default installation.

My PC consists of a Asus P2B Board, 128MB Ram, Pentium II 350 with 2 HDs one
Quantum Fireball EX and a IBM DTLA307045.
Additional I have a Zip100 Drive at the parallel port.

I could access the Zip drive without any problems with the standard kernel
with:
"modprobe ppa"
I have mounted the Zip drive in 2 ways:
1) mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /zip
2) within /etc/fstab with following entry:
/dev/sda4 /zip vfat
noauto,rw,user,nosuid,sync,mode=0777
and the command mount /zip

My problem:
I have in my university a zip disk with updates of SuSE7.1.
The structure of the zip disk is as follows:
rkurmann@cerf:~ > du -b /zip
3715072 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/a1
129024 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/ap2
6905856 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/ap3
1636352 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/n1
14651392 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/n2
4096 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/patches
22528 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/sec1
1888256 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/snd2
182272 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/xap2
141312 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/xwm1
29278208 /zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1
29282304 /zip/rek/suse_upd71
2709504 /zip/rek/krueger
231424 /zip/rek/eckel
151552 /zip/rek/sql/schek/~infosys/syntax_diagramme
153600 /zip/rek/sql/schek/~infosys
155648 /zip/rek/sql/schek
260096 /zip/rek/sql
9949184 /zip/rek/java
438272 /zip/rek/fortify
94494720 /zip/rek
94828544 /zip

If copied them as follows:
1) mount /zip
2) Start Konquerer and generate destination directory
3) In menu "Adress" generate "New Window".
4) D&D in the new window the directory "/zip" the destination window in the
first Konquerer window.

Then the copy display starts and displays the wrong numbers of files to
copy.
 (See Schnappschuss1.png)

On the HD some files are missing!
Some subdirs ap2/, ap3/, ... weren’t copied at all.

rkurmann@cerf:~ > du -b /home/rkurmann/zip
3739648 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1/a1
3743744 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/suse_upd71/7.1
3751936 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/suse_upd71
2723840 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/krueger
237568 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/eckel
184320
/home/rkurmann/zip/rek/sql/schek/~infosys/syntax_diagramme
188416 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/sql/schek/~infosys
192512 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/sql/schek
303104 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/sql
9969664 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/java
446464 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek/fortify
69169152 /home/rkurmann/zip/rek
69521408 /home/rkurmann/zip

I’ve rerun the test several times and different numbers of files were
copied.
Partly all files were copied.

I’ve rerun the test as user and root, no difference.

I tested both mount variants and there is no difference.

With cp -r /zip /home/rkurmann the correct number of files were copied.

With KDE1 the copy was correct.

... some other remarks that KDE is great ...
