Subject: Bug#43290: konqueror ignoring /etc/hosts and resolving via DNS
From: kyle () lodge ! glasgownet ! com

Package: konqueror
Version: 4.0 (using KDE 3.0.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: (3.0)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-686-smp
OS/Compiler notes:

When attempting to access an internal website by FQDN, Konqueror resolves it via the \
DNS server, instead of the entry in /etc/hosts. Due to the iptables set up, this \
makes it impossible to view internal websites in Konqueror, and Mozilla or Galeon has \
to be used. This problem is apparently evident in 2.2.2 and is also present in 3.0.1

Hope this helps

Kyle
