Konqueror in KDE 3 hangs for over a minute when starting up. Under KDE 2.2.2, \
konqueror used to start up in about 5 seconds on the same system (Sun Ultra 5, \
UltraSPARC-IIi-333MHz, 256MB Ram, Solaris 8) I expected KDE 3 to be a bit slower, but \
not that much slower....

While it is 'pausing' its process cranks up to nearly 100% of processor time.

With debugging output enabled, I get the following sequence of events :

konqueror: KonqMainWindow::enableAllActions false


Startup sequence will pause at this point for about 40 seconds. Before the following \
message is produced :

kparts: MainWindow::createGUI for 0L


Startup now pauses again for about 30 seconds. Before contining normally with the \
following messages :

libkonq: KBookmarkManager::toolbar begin
libkonq: KBookmarkManager::toolbar trying cache
konqueror: KonqMainWindow::openURL : url = 'file:/home/staff/tmw'  serviceType='' \
                view=0
konqueror: KonqMainWindow::setLocationBarURL: url = file:/home/staff/tmw
konqueror: trying openView for file:/home/staff/tmw (servicetype inode/directory)
konqueror: serviceName= m_sViewModeForDirectory=
konqueror: KonqViewManager::splitView(ServiceType)
konqueror: KonqViewManager::split
konqueror: KonqViewManager::createView

etc........

If somebody out there can tell me what it is that's going on during the two big \
pauses, I might be able to work out what it is that's causing this.
