Subject: Bug#43220: tokenizer bug in unicode conversion
From: mg.pub () gmx ! net
Date: 2002-05-29 15:46:58
[Download RAW message or body]
Package: khtml
Version: KDE 3.0.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
khtml converts certain characters, which might have become unnecessary by this point.
The particular problem is that the middle point (0xb7) is converted to the asterisk \
sign (*, 0x2a). The respective line 124 in htmltokenizer is already scheduled for \
removal:
/* This one should die */ \
case 0xb7: (x) = '*'; break;
Our software makes usage of unicode texts a lot, and it would be nice if khtml would \
be a bit more unicode-oriented in this particular area (other conversions might have \
become unnecessary as well). Thank you for considering this.
