Subject: Entering URLs freezes konqueror
From: tim@my-place.org.uk

Package: konqueror
Version: KDE 2.2.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: n/a Using RH7.2 rpms from KDE FTP site
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Kernel upgraded to 2.4.13

Using the Redhat 7.2 RPMs from the KDe FTP site, Konqueror is unusable. Every time I \
try to type an address into the address bar, Konqueror freezes up. It appears to the \
automatic drop down box with URL suggestions which is causing this. (Am running with \
the 'RISCOS' theme in case it's relevant). There are no error messages of any kind, \
neither does the KDE crash handler appear. I have to go into the task manager and \
manually kill the process to get rid of the window.

If I forcibly downgrade QT to 2.3.1 (as supplied on the RH72 CD, breaking the KDE \
Libs 2.2.2 package dependency on QT2.3.2), this problem seems to go away and \
Konqueror works fine.
