Bug 23716 was similar to this bug, but is closed so I'm not sure if this is a new bug \
or mearly an extension of an old one, but here goes...
the CSS properties margin-top and margin-bottom seem to be ignored for table \
elements. margin-left and margin-right are rendered properly.
Please take a look at the test case in Mozilla. You will see the expected behaviour.
<html><body>
<table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 width="180" border=0 bgcolor=cc9966>
<tr>
<td>
<table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 background="resources/sandy.gif" \
border=0 style="position:relative; margin-top:1; margin-left:1; margin-right:1; \
margin-bottom: 1; height:20;" width="178"> <tr>
<td align="left">
<table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0 width="178" \
height=20> <tr>
<td align="left">
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</body></html>
Thanks for your attention
