HTML characters like &#34; &lt; or &gt; and so on _inside of a <LISTING> tag_ are \
_not_ converted into ", < and >. they're shown in plain text and with standard font \
(not a fixed one). Everything gets rendered correctly inside of a <CODE> tag, but \
shouldn't the <LISTING> tag behave like a <CODE> tag?
