That can severly limit your possibilities. Assume you are using this with 
KCite, and it produces you the following output:
(Chandresekar and Balasubramaniam, 2000)
If you don't allow line breaks within this output, you can run into very ugly 
paragraphs pretty soon.

It would be better if the plugin output would be processed by the normal 
kword paragraph layouting code (I just don't have a good idea how that can be 
achieved. But maybe somebody else?)
