I think the confusion is in the terms here.
By "activate", I (and Werner, I guess) mean "activating the part", i.e. creating the \
GUI around the part, to edit it.
If I understand correctly, you mean "activating the popup"... which is different.
Only LMB should activate the part, in terms of making it active.

But this only about _selecting_ the frame before making the popup appear,
not about _activating_ (opening) the part.
Right, that's a bug - not a feature. Will fix right away.
