AH ! Took me 10 minutes to understand where this confusion is coming from.

I was talking about "Konqueror the file manager" and you were talking about
"Konqueror the web browser".

My point is:
if you have three files: MSWord.doc, textfile.doc and WordPerfect.doc,
Konqueror (the file manager !) will need to identify them correctly,
to open the right application if you click on them, and JUST THE SAME,
KOffice will need to be able to identify them correctly, to fire off the
right filter.

Hence the idea that KMimeMagic _is_ the solution (it's the only one,
we have to look into the files to make the difference), but it obviously
needs to be improved.

I would do that, but as long as kfiledialog doesn't use it, it's a bit pointless.
